This week during Atelier time, Morah Jessica presented Kitah Alef with water balloons filled with water colors. The children each chose a balloon filled with red, yellow, green, blue, purple, or pink paint.

The children have been sculpting tons of clay people and animals out of polymer clay. In order to extend the exploration, Morah Jessica offered the children materials to build a habitat for their creatures.

During the past school year, Kitah Gimmel students made several clay sculptures.

More messy gross-motor art!

The children continue their interest in nature by creating the structure for papier-mache plant sculptures.

Kitah Alef is continuing with Gross Motor Art experiences this summer. The first offering was Swing Painting!

Kitah Daled continues sculpting with polymer clay. They previously created small people and animals.

We had a bunch of cardboard boxes leftover from our Summer Camp supply orders. Morah Jessica presented the boxes, tape, paint markers, and scissors to the children as a provocation.

The children were presented with a variety of colored mud and sheets of heavy-weight, brown craft paper. The mud paint was a mixture of water, sand, and tempera paint.

Each class made Siyum invitations based around a thread of interest that became a theme in their classroom.

Morah Jessica offered Kitah Daled Sculpey Clay to make people and animals to inhabit their wooden structures.

For Kitah Daled’s final portrait project, the children explored printmaking.

The Kitah Gimmel children have been fascinated by the construction site across the street.

Kitah Alef have been exploring a variety of gross motor painting experiences.

Kitah Alef children have been preoccupied with the large trucks involved in the construction across the street. We combined the interests of vehicles and painting together in one provocation!

The Kitah Gimmel children just finished a weaving project.

Two of the biggest threads of interest in Kitah Bet have been collage and nature. This led us to papermaking!

The children seemed to really enjoy painting the Tile Portrait Table during last class, so Morah Jessica wanted to find a way to incorporate painting with the thread of Self Portraits.

KItah Aleph used forks and combs as paintbrushes for their second large canvas.
