Siyum Invitations

Each class made Siyum invitations based around a thread of interest that became a theme in their classroom.

Kitah Alef

Kitah Alef’s Siyum Night theme is based around their fascination with the construction site across the street, their love of building, and the construction vehicles. The children painted the invitations by dipping small trucks into paint and rolling them across the thick art paper.

Kitah Bet

Kitah Bet’s Siyum Night invitation requests that the recipient “Come Create in the Kitah Bet Treehouse!” This reflects the children’s threads of interest in building, nature, and collage. They even created a tree in the middle of the classroom this year! For this invitation, the children glued assorted cut paper leaves to heavy art paper in their own arrangement.

Kitah Gimmel

Kitah Gimmel’s theme for Siyum Night is “Come Spin a Yarn.” This combines the storytelling thread of interest with their fiber arts. For their invitations, the children cut ribbons and yarn, then manipulated them into various arrangements, and glued them onto thick art paper.

Kitah Daled

Kitah Daled’s theme for Siyum Night is “Design Thinking.” This ties together their various project-based work, building with recycled parts and wood, along with writing. The space will also feature a slide show of the many self portraits that the children have made this year with a wide variety of materials. The invitations were based on architectural blueprints. The children first painted thick art paper with blue watercolor, then once the paint had dried, they drew buildings using white crayons and oil pastels. They wrote “please come” on the cover of the invitation with Sharpie marker.
