Kitah Daled's Clay People and Animals
Morah Jessica offered Kitah Daled Sculpey Clay to make people and animals to inhabit their wooden structures. This clay is baked in the oven and becomes much sturdier when dry as opposed to our usual Air-Dry Clay. Many of the children chose to sculpt tiny versions of themselves. Rosie said “I want a yellow dress.” Yonit said “My person is holding a rock.”
The children used clay tools to etch their features into the clay. Shimon wanted to make a dog. Both Isabella and Nathan made turtles. Benji said “I want to make a cheetah.” He mixed yellow with the orange clay to get the right shade of orange. He made several spots out of tiny pieces of black clay and stuck them to the cheetah’s back.
These clay pieces will be available to play with on Siyum Night.
