Kitah Daled Etched Portrait Prints
For Kitah Daled’s final portrait project, the children explored printmaking. They chose a pointed tool from a jar of skewers, styluses, and toothpicks. Then they each etched their own image into small, styrofoam trays.
Next class, the children chose a color of thick, printing ink and rolled it over their etched image with a brayer. Then they placed a small sheet of art paper over the inked depiction. The children rolled a different brayer over the back of the paper, pressing tightly to transfer the image. They peeled the paper off of the tray and placed it to dry overnight.
Nathan volunteered to write the title and date for the piece.
The portraits will be adhered to a wooden panel in a grid pattern and hung for Siym night.
