Kitah Alef Feather Dusters

Morah Chaya suggested making feather dusters for Pesach With the Kitah Alef children. We thought they could use a stick as a base, since the children are often seen collecting sticks during outside play. Morah Jessica asked Kitah Alef for help finding sticks, and they were happy to help!

The children were presented with acrylic markers and the sticks that they collected. They made brightly colored marks on their sticks. The children seemed to enjoy trying a variety of colors. Some children really enjoyed taking the tops off the markers and then putting them back on.

Next the children chose from a jar of feathers. There were both dyed and natural colors. Morah Jessica helped glue the feathers onto one end of the stick, then wrap a wire around to secure them.

Finally, the children practiced sweeping chametz with their feather duster.
