Pre-Kitah Alef's Simchat Torah Flags
For Simchat Torah the Pre-Kitah Alef children made their own Simchat Torah flags.
Morah Jessica and Morah Eze took them one at a time into the Atelier where they were presented with a rectangle of muslin in a plastic box with a lid. The children then selected a few colors of liquid watercolors and Morah Jessica dripped them onto their piece of fabric. She placed the lid back onto the box and demonstrated how the children could either shake it or tip it. She then handed the box to the child to shake, spreading the paint across the fabric. Once dry, Morah Jessica hot glued a brightly colored swizzle stick (selected by each child) onto one side of the fabric.
