Kitah Alef's Sticky Collage
This week, the children of Kitah Alef were presented with a large sheet of contact paper to use as a canvas. Morah Jessica also set out a bowl of brightly colored tissue paper circles, metallic scrap paper, dot paints, and tempera sticks.
The children placed the paper scraps all over the sticky sheet. Kieran placed his hand on the contact paper, then raised his hand back up pulling the sheet with him. Kieran asked, βIs it sticky?β Leibel and Leo dot and streak the paints over top of a layer of tissue dots. Cooper notices that he can take the paper off of the contact paper and move it to a new spot.
Once the collage is complete, a second layer of contact paper is laid over top of it.
Morah Jessica will hang it in a window for the children to enjoy its transparency and observe how the light affects the image.
