Kitah Daled's Clay Creatures

Following the holidays, the children have returned to the medium of clay. They were each given a small ball of clay and a wide selection of natural materials to create a nature creature. The children used a variety of tools to shape and sculpt the clay.

Some children wanted to make an existing animal and others made imaginary creatures. There were porcupines, snakes, a scorpion, and fairies.

The children used sticks for arms, legs, and tails. Small pieces of seaglass became facial features. Rose petals became clothing and feathers transformed into fur. The children even came up with names for their creatures.

he children even came up with names for their creatures. The children finished off their sculptures with a layer of Mod Podge and glitter.
