Mallet Painting in the Atelier with Kitah Alef

Kitah Alef continues their Gross Motor Art experiences in the Atelier. This week the children were offered mallets as a tool for painting. The children squirted green, blue, and yellow paint onto cardstock. Morah covered the paint with plastic wrap.

The children hammered atop the plastic wrap covered paper, spreading the puddles of paint. The colors mix to make new colors and shapes.

This experience helps the children build the muscles in their arms. Once the children had finished, the plastic wrap is removed from their artwork.
