For Thanksgiving, the Kitah Gimmel children made leaf prints for a Thanksgiving invitation. The children were offered a variety of leaves, different shapes and sizes. The children each selected a leaf (sometimes more than one), then a dot marker. They stamped the entire leaf with the ink then flipped the leaf over onto a sheet of white paper.
Next they pressed the leaf to the paper using a wooden mallet. The ink transferred to the paper leaving a colorful print of the leaf. Finally, the children cut out their leaf prints and glued them to a large poster board using glue sticks.
