Kitah Gimmel 1 Makes Fall Webworms

The children have been very interested in the caterpillars on our playground. We discovered they are called Fall Webworms. During art class, the children were presented with popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, twist-ties, feathers, and yarn with which they could create their own Webworms. They wrapped their sticks with yarn and pipe cleaners and inserted feathers under the wires for the hair on the real caterpillars. This experience strengthens the children’s fine motor skills.
