Kitah Gimmel’s Seder Pillows
The children made pillows for their Passover Seder.
During the first Atelier session, the children dyed muslin using pipettes and liquid watercolor in teal, blue, magenta, and purple.
Once dry, Morah Jessica cut the fabric into individual pieces. Then the children stenciled the word “Pesach” onto their fabric using jewel-toned acrylic paint.
Following this, the children hot-glued their fabric, then folded it horizontally into a tube. Morah tied one end close, using a ribbon chosen by the child.
The children stuffed their pillow case with Poly-Fil. Once full, Morah tied the other end.
The children selected fabric flowers of various sizes and colors to glue on their pillows. These flowers represent springtime and tie back to the children’s love of nature.
