Tape Painting with Kitah Bet-2

Kitah Bet’s most recent Atelier experience combines two of their interests, paint and tape. The children were each given a half sheet of watercolor paper and pieces of masking tape. The Morahs tore strips of masking tape and handed them to the children, one at a time. The children placed the pieces of tape on their paper, layered them to make a design of their choosing.

Next, the children painted over their tape designs using brightly colored gel and tempera paints. They mixed shades to make new colors, trading paint colors as they worked.

Once dry, the tape was removed revealing thick white lines.
