Kitah Bet’s Clay Apples

The Kitah Bet children are making honey jars for Rosh Hashanah. Their first art offering in the Atelier was clay, rollers, and sculpting tools. Each child was given a small chunk of Crayola Air Dry Clay and asked to make apples to top their honey jars. Apples were placed on the table for reference. First the children rolled their clay into balls. Next, the children used their tools to press indentations into the top and bottom of their balls to mimic the apples on the table.

The following week, the children painted their apples using red, green, and yellow acrylic paint. Once dry, these will be sealed with Mod Podge and glued to the top of their honey jars.
