Ice Painting in the Atelier
The children were offered colorful ice cubes made with watercolor paints and food coloring. Each ice cube had a popsicle stick handle to make the experience less messy. The children moved their ice over the watercolor paper watching the ice melt. As they traded colors, the new pigments blended with the vibrant puddles on the page. Some of the children chose to hold the ice cubes in their hands as they painted. This experience offered a fun way to cool down from the outside heat.
