Kitah Gimmel's Rosh Hashanah Cards

For their Rosh Hashanah cards, the Kitah Gimmel children depicted apples and honey. These foods represent a sweet new year!

In the Atelier, The children were presented with tempera paint in shades of yellow and gold. They dipped hexagonal shaped stamps into the paint and pressed them onto white watercolor paper.

The children then sprinkled gold flakes over the paint.

Next, the children were presented with a variety of apples and drawing implements such as pens, colored pencils, and markers.

As the children drew still-lifes of the apples, we talked about the shape of the apple being round. Morah asked if their apple had a stem. The children also talked about their favorite types of apples. Last, the children cut out their apple, and it was then adhered to their honeycomb-printed paper.
