KItah Daled’s Thanksgiving Invitation

For Kitah Daled’s Thanksgiving Invitation, The children created leaf rubbings. They selected a variety of differently shaped leaves from a bowl in the Atelier, they placed the leaves under a sheet of drawing paper. They then rubbed flat rectangular crayons in fall colors over the paper covered leaves, revealing their shape and texture on the paper’s surface. Some children also traced their leaves and colored their drawing with markers and colored pencils.

Next, the children cut out the paper leaves and glued them to a large sheet of posterboard in an attractive composition.

The children each wrote their name on scraps of white paper using colored pencils. These names were cut out and arranged in two vertical rows on the poster board next to the paper leaf art. The children glued the names down with glue sticks.

Lastly, a child wrote the words “You Are Invited” with markers on two strips of white paper. These strips were then glued to the top of the poster board with glue sticks.
