Kitah Bet-2 Makes Sukkah Decorations

Morah Judy, one of our frequent substitute teachers, donated a bunch of giant pinecones. Morah Adi had the idea to turn these into Sukkah decorations.

In the Atelier, the children were presented with different colors of glitter glue and swizzle sticks for drizzling over their pinecones.

Next, the children were offered Shinky Dinks cut into various shapes. The children each chose their own shape, then colored it with brightly colored pencils. Morah Jessica baked the pieces in the oven prior to the next art class.

In the Atelier the following week, the children were each given their painted pinecones and Shrinky Dinks. They decorated their pinecones with sheer ribbons and tinsel, then strung their Shrinky Dinks onto electrical wire along with crystals and brightly colored, transparent plastic pieces. This wire was then wrapped tightly around the bottom of the pinecone so it hung below.

Morah Jessica added a wire loop handle to the top of each pinecone, as well.
