Sukkah decorations with Kitah Bet

In the Atelier, the Kitah Bet children were offered wooden loose parts, wooden beads, pipe cleaners, raffia, and yarn to create their own sukkah decorations. The children colored the wooden pieces with dot markers and Sharpie markers, then strung the pieces together and hung them from a wooden ring or a looped pipe cleaner.

Simchat Torah Flags with Kitah Bet

For Simchat Torah, each class makes their own flags to bring home. The Kitah Bet children were offered Sharpie markers, fabric markers, rubbing alcohol, and pipettes to use to decorate their flags. Each child was given a rectangle of white fabric. The children then drew all over their fabric with their selected colors. When they finished drawing, the children squirted rubbing alcohol onto the fabric and watched the mark widen and the colors spread. The end result was almost a tie-dyed effect. Sticks will be glued to one side of the fabric for a handle.
