Kitah Bet-1 Makes Clay Candle Holders

Kitah Bet-1 is very interested in Shabbat. To honor this interest Morah Mushky asked us to make Shabbat candle holders to display on Siyum Night.

In the Atelier, each child was given a ball of air dry clay. The children used clay tools to sculpt their clay around a shabbat candle. Once they formed the shape, the children carved details into the clay. The candles were removed for the clay to dry.

During their next art class, the children painted their candle holders with metallic acrylic paint.

When the paint had dried, the children coated their candleholders with Mod Podge and a sprinkle of glitter.
