Kitah Bet-2 Makes Apples
Morah Adi has a part of a tree trunk attached to her wall. She had the idea to make it into an apple tree for Rosh Hashanah.
In the Atelier, the Kitah Bet children were presented with clear plastic sphere ornaments in several sizes. Each child selected the size that they wanted.
The children used a variety of wooden and plastic apples as reference. Morah Jessica asked them about their favorite kinds of apples and discussed the different flavors such as sweet and sour. Red and green apples were the most popular amongst the children.
The children selected the paint color that corresponded with their favorite apple. They painted each half of the sphere with either red, green, yellow, or orange acrylic paint. Many children decided to mix yellow with the red or green paint to create a new shade. Once the apples were dry, Morah Jessica hung them from the tree’s branches using twine.
