Kitah Alef Paints with Wet Chalk
For their first experience in the Atelier, Kitah Alef explores wet chalk. The children were presented with a choice of white or black paper, an ice tray filled with water, and a variety of colors of chalk.
The children alternated between the colors of chalk, dipping them in the tray of water.
They streaked the chalk paint across their sheet of paper in lines and swirls.
Maya was enthralled by the pasty texture of her chalk. She sat for a while, rubbing the wet part of the stick with her finger tips.
A few of the children were a bit timid in the new space, but this should subside in the weeks to come.
