Kitah Alef’s Sukkah Decorations

The Kitah Alef children created their own Sukkah decorations using a variety of loose parts. During art class, the children were offered CD’s, large clear lids, wooden beads, tape rings, pipe cleaners, and raffia ribbon. First the children were each given a CD and lid to color with Sharpie markers and glitter glue. Most of the children seem to enjoy exploring new mediums. A couple of the children are still a bit wary. Next, the children selected loose parts to string onto pipe cleaners. A few of the children were able to put their objects onto the pipe cleaner themselves. During this process, some children practiced sorting, pouring the materials out of the container then placing them back inside one at a time. Morah helped attach the pieces together, hanging the beads and rings from the bottom of the decoration, and adding a loop to the top for hanging in the Sukkah.
