Kitah Alef Paints Shofars for Rosh Hashana

For Rosh Hashanah the Kitah Alef Morahs wanted to depict the Shofar. During art class, the children were presented with yarn, liquid watercolors, brown tempera paint, and shofar shaped stamps. 

The children dipped a strand of yarn into a cup of watercolor paint then dragged the wet yarn across the posterboard leaving colorful lines. These lines were meant to represent the Shofar blast.

Next the children dunked the stamps into brown paint then printed shofar shapes around the edge of the painting. Some children were a bit apprehensive at first, but then they became intrigued by the new tools and the sensory element of the paints. A couple of the children didn't even want to leave when their turn was over.
