Kitah Alef Makes Butterfly Prints
During Art class this past week, the Kitah Alef children were presented with a printing experience.
Each child was given a folded sheet of cardstock, which was opened and laid flat in front of them. The children then selected three to four colors of washable gel paint.
Morah Jessica squirted the paint in the center of the paper, then refolded it. The children pressed and patted the paper to move and mix the paint colors.
Next, the children opened their prints to see their print. Last, they each sprinkled iridescent glitter over the wet paint as a finishing touch.
Once dry, Morah Jessica cut out the mostly leaf-shaped prints and mounted them around the tree branches on the wall in Kitah Alef (per their Morah’s request.)
In this experience the children strengthened their gross motor skills and practiced color-mixing.
