Kitah Bet Decorated Branch

The children of Kitah Bet wanted to create a tree in their classroom. There was already a large branch hanging from the ceiling in the center of the classroom. We previously created bark collages on long strips of cardboard to become the tree’s trunk. Morah Jessica hung these in a line from the floor all the way to where the branch is hanging.

We noticed that there was a gap between the branch and the back collage strip on the wall. We decided to create one more magical branch to add to fill in the gap and complete the tree. First, Morah Jessica found a branch that was the correct length.

Next, the children colored the branch with acrylic paint markers.

They wrapped brightly colored ribbon, string, and yarn around various parts of the branch.

The children also used wire to string beads and crystals together.

They twisted and wrapped these chains around the branch at various intervals.
