Pre- Kitah Alef’s Transparent Painting

This week’s experience continues the thread of transparency while adding the new interest in paint.

The children were offered a large sheet of acetate and brightly colored finger paints.

Many of the children enthusiastically dipped their fingers in the saucers of paint, while a couple of the friends were a bit wary. Morah Jessica offered swizzle sticks to the latter.

The children made dots and dashes with their fingers and sticks. They spread the colors across the sheet with their palms, mixing the primary colors together.

Once dry, Morah Jessica coated the paint with clear enamel. The painting is now hanging in the window in Pre-Kitah Alef’s classroom.
