Ice Painting with Pre-Kitah Alef

This week, Pre-Kitah Alef was offered colored ice as paint.

The children came to the Atelier in pairs, where Morah Jessica presented them with a large plastic bin containing half sheets of watercolor paper. Morah placed four pieces of ice into the bin and showed the children how to rub the ice over the paper to make marks.

The children alternated colors, layering the paint. As the ice cubes were placed on the paper, they created puddles of color. Some children pushed the ice across the bottom of the box. Other children preferred to hold on to the cube.
