Kitah Daled/Kitah Gimmel Loose Part Bees
The Kitah Gimmel and Daled children were presented with loose parts and hot glue during enrichment. They were asked to make bees with these materials. We talked about the parts of a bee as the children worked on assembly. They first chose a larger round object for the bee’s body. They used toothpicks, bobby pins, and pipe cleaners for antennae and a stinger. For the wings, the children used pieces of foam, mesh, clear plastic, tags, and washi tape rings.
After choosing all their loose parts, the children used a low-temperature hot glue gun (with Morah’s supervision) to adhere all their parts together. Many of the children even made a face for the bee, gluing two round lids for the eyes and a curved piece of pipe cleaner for a mouth.
