Kitah Daled Simchat Torah Flags

Kitah Daled made flags for Simchat Torah.

The children were presented with fresh flowers, hammers, and rectangular sheets of muslin.

The children pulled petals off of their chosen flowers and arranged them under their fabric.

They then hammered atop the fabric, crushing the plants, and causing the natural dye to stain the fabric. They continued hammering their fabric until they were happy with the composition.

Next, the children stenciled a torah onto their fabric using fabric markers.

The final step was adhering a wooden dowel to one side of the fabric with hot glue.
