Kitah Bet Makes Simchat Torah Flags

For Simchat Torah, the Kitah Bet children were each presented with a rectangle of muslin to make their own flag. Morah Jessica brought spray bottles filled with liquid watercolor and small squeeze bottles filled with tempera paint to the playground. These materials were offered to continue the thread of building fine and gross motor skills through art. The children traded paints with each other as they layered their cloth with the selected colors. They squeezed dots and lines atop soft, dreamy blends of watercolor. Many children even finger painted. As the fabric dried, the colors bled and spread. Morah Jessica attached wooden sticks to one edge of the fabric with hot glue to make the fabric into flags.
